Creamy and tasty soy milk yoghurts by Cynthia

Very easy to make, economical and to your own taste, making yoghurt at home offers so many advantages!

Any kind of milk will do, whether of animal or plant origin.
Less traditional milk such as goat´s or ewe´s milk or even donkey´s milk will surprise you with their characters.
Even more surprising are soy milk, almond, rice or oat milk or even coconut milk for making tasty yoghurt that is free from casein, lactose or
cholesterol. They are also rich in vitamins and mineral salts.


Once you have chosen your milk, you can use a special fermenting agent, shop-bought yoghurt or yoghurt from a previous batch.
Do not use yoghurt of your own making more than 5 times as this will diminish the results.
Once your yoghurt is ready, leave the pots in the fridge and eat within 8 to 10 days, if they haven´t been gobbled up sooner.

Here is how to make creamy and tasty yoghurt using soy milk with the 1 litre Tom Press yoghurt machine.
Ingredients
- 1 litre of natural organic soy milk at room temperature
- 2 sachets of fermenting agents for yoghurt (1 sachet for 1/2 L of milk)
- 1 soup spoon of powdered soy for instant drinks


Preparation
Pour one third of a litre of plant milk into the yoghurt bowl.
Add the fermenting agent little by little, one sachet after another, while stirring slowly and gently, moving the whisk up and down.
It is important to use slow movements to avoid destroying the bacteria in the fermenting agent. Using a whisk avoids creating lumps.

Now add the second third of the soy milk and continue to stir in order to get a homogenous mixture.

Here is my little tip: add a soup spoon of powdered soy while stirring and it will add consistency to your future yoghurt.

Your yoghurt machine should stand on a flat stable surface while the mixture heats. Now set the heating time.

Personally, I heat for 10 hours using the night-time feature to enjoy the next day.
At breakfast, a pleasant Brazilian melody tells me when the yoghurt machine has finished heating.
I leave it to cool and before heading out to work, I put the pots in the fridge.

Come evening-time, the whole family can enjoy this treat!!!
