Carentan leek seeds
This leek is an early and huge French variety listed in 1874 in the Journal de l'Agriculture. It is ideal for a large yield of late summer, early autumn.
The foot can reach a diameter between 6 and 8 cm, a length of 20 to 25 cm and a weight of 100 to 400 g.  

Sowing under shelter: February-March-April.
Full ground sowing: March-April-May-June in sunny to partial shade.
Sowing aid: sowing under shelter from February. Cover the seeds with 0.5 cm of soil, compact the soil and keep it cool.  

Growing aid: transplant the plants (the size of a pencil) from April on loose, deep and cool soil.
Distance the rows 35 cm and space 10 cm on the row.  

Harvest: January-February-June-July-August-September-October-November-December.
Harvesting aid: harvest as needed, pulling leeks preferably at the last moment.  

Tips: only water in case of drought or hot weather. Avoid fresh manures. Need nitrogen supply.
